India's historic win over New Zealand at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup by a massive 96 runs filled the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad with thunderous cheers. But before the match, a vibrant musical closing ceremony featuring Sukhbir Singh, Falguni Pathak, and global pop star Ricky Martin set the stage for the exciting night. At the closing ceremony, Ricky was seen dancing and enjoying Sukhbir's performace sending the internet into a frenzy.

Ricky Martin dances to Oh Ho Ho Ho

A video shared on the official Instagram account of the International Cricket Council (ICC) shows Ricky enjoying himself with fans inside the stadium, dancing enthusiastically to Sukhbir’s hit track “Oh Ho Ho Ho," before the global pop star took the stage.

Ricky was seen wearing a white tee as he jumped and vibed to the beats of the song. Several fans are also seen joining him on the ground. Reacting to the video, Sukhbir himself commented, “ale ale ale meets oho ho ho!” A fan wrote, “This is such a vibe," while another user commented, “Kya baat! A global banger!”

During the ceremony, Sukhbir started the performance with his chartbuster Oh Ho Ho Ho, instantly prompting the audience to dance. After Sukhbir's performance, Ricky Martin took to the stage and performed several of his popular tracks. "I am very excited as I have never performed for a cricket audience. This performance will be very special." Sukhbir reportedly told ANI after his performance.

Team India's historic win at T20 World Cup

A dominant India became the first team to retain the ICC Men's T20 World Cup title, win three world crowns, and clinch the trophy on home soil after defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final played in front of 86, 824 fans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav will now lift the trophy and be the fourth Indian to lead the side to a men's cricket World Cup title after having not lost a single series since taking charge in July 2024 - a remarkable record that highlights India's dominance in the shortest format.

Though the massive win, India broke two hoodoos of having never previously beaten New Zealand in a Men's T20 World Cup match, and winning in Ahmedabad after their last two ICC white-ball defeats - the 2023 ODI World Cup final loss to Australia and a Super Eights defeat to South Africa earlier in this tournament - came at the venue.
