Yash, who has just launched a chain of medi-spas across the country, talks to CS about staying fit, both physically and mentally:
Fit hai toh hit hai
Working out has been an inseparable part of my life for quite some time now. I do it for my body, mind and soul. Fitness for me is as regular as having a bath. I do weight training five times a week and cardio twice a week. I also indulge in biking and power yoga. Besides, I also make some time in a week for walking. I enjoy long walks at a slow pace. Yoga, pranayam and meditation are also a regular part of my life.u00a0
On a meditative mode
Meditation helps me focus on my goals and ambitions. It helps me build determination. It has also taught me to take every obstacle as an opportunity or as a learning experience. A spiritual exercise like meditation also keeps me motivated. I also spend a lot of time in contemplation as it relaxes my mind.
No stress on stress
(Laughs) I don't see stress as a very bad thing. Stress can actually motivate you to do better in life. Like others, I too look for solutions when I am under stress. I feel stress can be beaten with some analysis, which happens when you spend time with yourself. I do a lot of weight-training which releases hormones that fight stress. Meditation and yoga takes care of the rest (smiles).
Chilling out
Well, I get very little free time from my work, family and fitness routine. I enjoy watching films, especially horrors and thrillers; they keep me glued to my seat. Otherwise, I like to meet up with friends now and then over a cup of coffee.
