Here's why the director's son had a hush-hush rokka ceremony

David Dhawan and wife Lali had a hush-hush rokka ceremony for their older son Rohit. Dhawan Jr makes his directorial debut on November 7 with Desi Boyz starring Akshay Kumar and John Abraham.

Dhawan Jr has been dating the fashion designeru00a0 for the last three years. Though his parents knew about the relationship, her folks didn't. When they learnt of it sometime back, they wanted to have a formal ceremony.

In a hurry

It is learnt that the director was reluctant to the rokka (traditional engagement) ceremony as he wanted his boy to be professionally secure before getting tied down. But the girl's parents were adamant.

They feared that the young lad would be tempted to look elsewhere and their daughter would be left in the lurch.
