Utkarsh Sharma (Charanjeet)

Utkarsh Sharma, the son of director Anil Sharma, made his first screen appearance as a child in Gadar. As an adult, he made his lead debut with Genius in 2018 and later appeared in Gadar 2 and Vanvaas.

Mushtaq Khan (Gul Khan)

After Gadar, Mushtaq Khan featured in films such as Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), the Welcome franchise, Oh My God! (2012), Wanted (2008) and Gadar 2. His recent on-screen appearances include Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 in 2025 and Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! Fun On The Run in 2026.

Amrish Puri (Ashraf Ali)

Amrish Puri’s portrayal of Ashraf Ali in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha remains one of his most powerful performances, where he brought gravitas, authority and emotional complexity to the role of Sakina’s father. A veteran of Indian cinema known for iconic roles in films like Mr. India and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Amrish Puri passed away in 2005.

Lillete Dubey (Shabana)

The actress appeared as Sakina's mother in the film. After Gadar, Lillete Dubey continued to build a diverse body of work with notable appearances in films such as Kal Ho Naa Ho, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and House Arrest, while also remaining active in theatre direction and production.

Pramod Moutho (Gurdeep Singh)

He is part of Tara Singh's extended family. He is widely recognized for playing ruthless, high-profile villains in 90s cinema (like Khalnayak and Raja Hindustani). He currently lives a relatively quiet life in Mumbai.

Om Puri (Narrator)

Om Puri’s voice as the narrator in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha added depth, authority and emotional weight to the film’s storytelling. Over the years, he delivered acclaimed performances in films such as Ardh Satya, Mr. India, Chachi 420, and OMG – Oh My God! The veteran actor passed away on January 6, 2017.

Vivek Shauq (Darmiyaan Singh)

Vivek Shauq played the memorable role of Darmiyaan Singh, the loyal, lighthearted best friend and sidekick to Sunny Deol’s character, Tara Singh. Tragically, Vivek Shauq is no longer with us. On January 3, 2011, he suffered a series of cardiac arrest.
