Hrithik Roshan set foot in the industry with the romantic action film Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai. He played the role of Rohit, who is eventually killed, leaving his lover Sonia in despair.

Ranveer Singh entered the industry with 2010's Band Baaja Baaraat, as Bitoo, who runs a wedding planning company with Shruti, who eventually falls in love with him.

Before etching a name for himself as Mr Perfectionist, Aamir Khan debuted in the industry with 1988's Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak as Raj, who decides to elope with his lover Rashmi, knowing their family rivalry.

Ranbir Kapoor made his debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya, which released in 2007. He played Raj, who is head over heels in love with Sakina and goes lengths to win her heart.

Along with Hrithik, Ameesha Patel also debuted with Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai as Sonia, who is grieving the loss of her love Rohit.

Janhvi Kapoor entered the industry with 2018's Dhadak. She played Parthavi, an upper-class Marwari girl who falls in love and elopes with her lover who belongs to the lower caste, in this film adapted from the Marathi film Sairat. 

Kriti Sanon debuted with the 2014 film Heropanti. She played Dimpy, who falls in love with Bablu, who is kidnapped by her father. 

Sonam Kapoor also debuted with Ranbir Kapoor's Saawariya as Sakina, who awaits her long-lost lover, Imaan.

Anushka Sharma, before she became one of the most sought-after names in the industry, started off by starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. She played Tani, who marries Surrinder at the wish of her dying father. 

Shahid Kapoor made his Bollywood debut with the 2003 film Ishq Vishk, wherein he played the lead role of Rajiv, lies to Payal about being in love with her, just to gain popularity in college.

Arjun Kapoor's debut film, Ishaqzaade, had him play Parma Chauhan, who falls in love with Zoya Qureshi despite being from two rival political families. 

Also debuting with Heropanti was Tiger Shroff, who played Bablu, who is kidnapped by Chowdhary for knowing his elder daughter, Renu's whereabouts, after she elopes with her lover.
