Set in the Mudumalai National Park in Tamil Nadu, The Elephant Whisperers follows the story of an orphaned elephant calf named Raghu in the care of Bomman and Bellie, an indigenous couple.
Bomman and Belli were flown to Mumbai to attend an event in the city in honour of the team of 'The Elephant Whisperers'. The couple happily posed with the Oscar for the press and also spoke to the media about their experience. (Pic-Pallav Paliwal)
Talking to the media at a post-Oscars celebration event, Bellie said in Tamil: "I was really apprehensive of raising Raghu earlier because I knew that one day Raghu will have to go in the wild, the world where he belongs."
"To take any child away from a mother is not a painful experience to say the least. But when I came to know that Raghu's mother had passed away, I couldn't say no to being with him. How could you say no to such a beautiful baby?"

Recently, Kartiki had met Bomman and Bellie and share the landmark moment with them. She also shared a photo of the couple posing with Oscar trophy and wrote, "It's been a long four months since we've been apart and now I feel like I'm home…” Needless to say, the lovely image has won the internet over
