Veteran actor Mammootty was conferred the Padma Bhushan award, one of India's highest civilian honours, recognises his outstanding contributions to Indian cinema, especially the Malayalam film industry.

He had donned a dapper classic badhgala with a crisp white shirt for the ceremony. As he stepped up to recieve the honour, he was seen greeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was seated in the audience and who reciprocated with a warm smile.

Among those in attendance at the ceremony was Dulquer Salmaan, the son of Mammootty and an acclaimed actor himself, who clapped and cheered as the Malayalam cine legend affectionately.

R Madhavan was conferred with the Padma Shri for his contribution to the entertainment industry. He has enjoyed a successful career spanning television and cinema, appearing in over 1,200 television episodes and around 75 films across Tamil, Hindi and other languages.

The actor was seen greeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and bowing down to him before he went up to the stage to get his Padma award.

Veteran singer Alka Yagnik has been conferred with the Padma Bhushan in recognition of her outstanding contribution to Indian music.

Anil Kumar Rastogi was conferred the Padma Shri for his contributions to the arts and public life. An eminent figure in theatre, cinema, radio and television, he has performed in nearly 1,000 shows across around 100 plays, acted in more than 75 feature films, and appeared in over 500 television episodes. Alongside his artistic career, he is also a scientist.

Actor Satish Shah, who passed away last year, was conferred Padma Shri posthumously for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema and entertainment. His brother Arvind Mamania received the award from President Droupadi Murmu.

Telugu actor Maganti Murali Mohan received Padma Shri from President for his controbution to cinema.

Veteran actress Hema Malini received the Padma Vibhushan on behalf of her husband Dharmendra, who was conferred posthumously on 25th May. The actress had an emotional moment as she received the honour on her husband’s behalf.

Actor Prosenjit Chatterjee has been conferred with the prestigious Padma Shri Award by President Droupadi Murmu at the first Civil Investiture Ceremony. For the occasion, he chose a traditional ensemble, consisting of a golden kurta set.
