India is beaming with pride after the historic triumph of the Women’s Cricket Team, who clinched their first-ever World Cup title. The team was pitted against South Africa in the final match that took place on November 2 at DY Patil stadium.
For the dazzling night, Indian singing star Sunidhi Chauhan entertained the crowd with a medley of her popular hits.
Sunidhi Chauhan dazzled in a stunning teal-green sequined mini dress featuring dramatic fringe detailing. She paired the shimmery outfit with sheer tights and ankle boots.
The grand event at DY Patil Stadium turned into a visual spectacle with a dazzling laser show, over 350 talented performers, and a breathtaking drone display that lit up the sky during the mid-innings break.
Chauhan, widely recognised across India, was joined by 60 dancers, and the show featured a stunning special-effects fireworks display choreographed by Sanjay Shetty.
Surrounded by a team of talented dancers, she wowed the crowd with her powerful voice and electrifying moves.
Sunidhi also sang the Indian national anthem before the match, while Cape Town’s Tarynn Bank performed the South African anthem.
For the national anthem ceremony, the singer paid an ode to women in blue by donning a vibrant saree with delicate floral embellishments.
Ahead of the match, Sunidhi was prepping to deliver a grand show and she shared BTS glimpses on her social media handle. She was sen decked up in a comfy black attire.
Talking about being a part of prestigious occasion, Chauhan said in a press release by ICC, “It's an honour to be performing at the Women's World Cup and I am really looking forward to the big day.”
She added, “With India in the final and the stands packed with enthusiastic fans, I'm sure the atmosphere will be electric, and it will be a day all of us will remember for long.”
Talking about the match, all-rounder performances from Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma were the crowning jewels for the team in the title clash.
