As per multiple reports on the internet, Anya Singh was born on December 20, 1992. She was born in London and spent part of her childhood there. When she was around 5 years old, her family moved to Delhi, India and settled there.
The actress did her schooling in Delhi and then went to Mayo College for girls. She graduated from the batch of 2011 and then went ahead to pursue her passion, acting.
Anya Singh hails from a non-filmy background, with her father being a distinguished doctor and her grandfather having served in the army.
Anya Singh is a trained Odissi dancer, and it was during her years of classical dance training that she first discovered her love for acting.
When Anya Singh first moved to Mumbai to pursue acting, her mother was hesitant about her choice. Unfamiliar with the industry and its uncertainties, she would often ask Anya after every release, “Are you coming back now?”
Anya debuted in the entertainment industry in 2017 with the musical film, Qaidi Band alongside Aadar Jain. She played the role of the lead, Bindiya Chadha in the same film.
In May 2016, she met casting director Shanoo Sharma, after which she auditioned for a role at YRF and even signed a three-film deal. However, projects failed to materialize after Qaidi Band’s failure.
For those unaware, Anya was spotted by the casting director during a hunt for new talent across Delhi, Chandigarh, and Jaipur. In fact, Sharma first met her in a coffee shop and immediately saw potential.
After her debut in Qaidi Band, Anya experimented with Telugu cinema and worked in Ninu Veedani Needanu Nene in 2019.
In 2020, she gained visibility through her OTT show Never Kiss Your Best Friend. She later went on to be a part of projects like Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, Kaun Banegi Shikharwati, Jee Karda among many others. She last starred in Stree 2, where she played the role of Chitti.
Anya Singh has officially taken the top spot on the IMDb Popular Indian Celebrities list, riding high on the massive success of her latest show, Ba***ds of Bollywood.
Apart from her professional endeavors, Anya is also committed to social welfare and she has adopted a blind dog.
