An insider told the Sun that Ford was so integral to the film that it was now being shot around his recovery. As many scenes as possible have been filmed in the 71-year-old actor's absence and therefore hundreds of crew have been sent home as they were no longer required.

The source added that producers could only do so much rewriting so they were preparing to down tools until he returned.
