Antoine Fuqua's film will be screened on the opening night on September 8. It is a remake of the classic John Sturges film, which in turn is a remake of Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai.

Fuqua brings his modern vision to a classic story. It is the filmmaker's third time at the festival. His previous films, Training Day and The Equalizer, were also screened in Toronto.
