Susan Sarandon recently tweeted a comparative picture of hers with Geena Davis as well as the one clicked during the shoot of Thelma & Louise 1991. Both the actresses were nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress following the release of the critically-acclaimed film, but lost out to Jodie Foster who won for The Silence Of The Lambs
And for a reason.
The Ridley Scott-directed film followed Thelma Dickinson Geena and Louise Sawyer Susan who go on the run in a pale blue 1966 Thunderbird convertible after Thelma shoots dead a man who attempts to rape her.
Interestingly enough, the pair, who have remained friends, got together in 2011 to celebrate the classic movie-s 20th anniversary at a series of events in the USA.
Geena, 58, says that at that time, she hadn-t anticipated the impact on women the film would eventually have. She, however, has no regrets about a lack of sequel, considering the way the movie ended.
Anyway, we are looking forward to another selfie in 2016 when the film celebrates its 25th anniversary.
