Based on the play by Peter Morgan 'The Audience', who also scripted the 2006 film, the production will see the 69-year-old actress in the role of HRH Elizabeth II in 2015, the BBC reported.
The play, which would be helmed by director Stephen Daldry, is anticipated for a March opening post will it would be on till June 2015 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in New York.
Mirren was much praised for her role in the big screen adaptation of the play, which had even won her an Oscar for best actress.
