Kate Beckinsale supports female filmmakers

The action-horror film, which will also feature Theo James and Tobias Menzies, will be helmed by Anna Foerster.

Talking about her experience of working with a female director, Kate said, "I am all about as many vaginas being on board (laughs). But on a serious note, I have to say, I don't think gender has a lot to do with whether you are a good or bad director. I know this debate is brought up because it's an action film. Earlier it was unusual to have an action heroine but now it is pretty common and I am hoping that in few years the conversation about female action director will be less unusual too."
