Acclaimed filmmaker James Cameron's 3-D sci-fi epic Avatar and Crazy Heart starring Jeff Bridges were the big winners at the 67th annual Golden Globe Awards Sunday night, with two awards each.
Avatar, that is still going strong at the international box office with over $1.3 billion in earnings, bagged the best motion picture (drama) award here and also the best director trophy for Cameron. 
Avatar which stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez and Stephen Lang, beat other nominees Up In The Air, The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds and Precious to emerge as the winner in the best film category. 
Following the alien world drama was Scott Cooper's Crazy Heart, a movie based on the 1987 novel with the same name by Thomas Cobb. 
It won the Golden Globe for best song The weary kind and also got Jeff Bridges the best actor award. George Clooney (Up In The Air), Colin Firth (A Single Man), Morgan Freeman (Invictus) and Tobey Maguire (Brothers) were also nominated for the best actor category. 
Sandra Bullock took home the best actress award for motion picture (drama) The Blind Side and Meryl Streep won the best actress (comedy/musical) for Julie &amp; Julia. 
Best supporting actor in a motion picture was taken by Christoph Waltz for Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds while Mo'Nique took the best supporting actress in a motion picture for Precious. 
The Hangover, directed by Todd Phillips and starring Bradley Cooper, claimed the night's other top movie award for best comedy/musical. Robert Downey Jr won the best actor comedy/musical for his role in Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes. 
The Cecil B DeMille Award for lifetime achievement in motion pictures was given to Martin Scorsese.
