Shia LaBeouf to make Broadway debut in 'Orphans'

'Transformers' star Shia LaBeouf is headed to Broadway for the first time.

The 26-year-old actor will make his debut in Lyle Kessler's 1983 drama 'Orphans', opposite Alec Baldwin, reported E! online. In the Broadway production, LaBeouf will portray Treat, a troubled orphan, who lives with his brother Phillip.

Baldwin will play a wealthy mobster named Harold, who Treat and Phillip kidnap only to discover he is the perfect father figure. Previews of 'Orphans' will begin on March 19 with the production set to open on April 7 at New York's Schoenfeld Theatre.
