Kim Taehyung, aka 'V', was born on December 30, 1995. The popular songwriter grew up in Geochang County. 

Did you know V started taking saxophone lessons in early middle school? It seems like the South Korean artist has always aspired to enter the music industry and make the world dance to his tunes. Kim Taehyung acted as a 'secret member' of BTS Band, and many of his fans were unaware of him, leaving fans surprised with the agency revealing the singer's talent. 

Taehyung thought that he might get cut from the team due to his secrecy. On June 13, 2013, he made his debut as a member of BTS on Mnet's M Countdown with the track "No More Dream" from their debut single album, 2 Cool 4 Skool. And every since then, there was no turning back for V.

On October 24, V became one of the youngest recipients of the prestigious fifth-class Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit medal.

V received the award from the President of South Korea along with the other members of BTS for their role in the spread of culture.

In July 2021, V was appointed Special Presidential Envoy for Future Generations and Culture by South Korean President Moon Jae-in, along with the other members of BTS, to help "lead the global agenda for future generations, such as sustainable growth" and "expand South Korea's diplomatic efforts and global standing" in the international community.

V is known for his baritone singing voice and has received a generally positive critical reception and his fan following is proof! His husky tone gained wider vocal recognition for his performance of his solo song "Stigma".

Currently, V has more than 43 million followers on Instagram, and his every post turns out to be a viral one.
