Karan Johar brought to life his interpretation of the "Costume Art" theme--and the dress code of "fashion is art" in a Manish Malhotra creation. The ensemble, designed by Manish Malhotra, draws its visual language directly from the paintings of Raja Ravi Varma, interpreting the master's iconic command of drape, light, and ornament through contemporary couture. 

Beyonce is back! The global superstar made a stunning return to the Met Gala 2026 red carpet. The 44-year-old singer wore a bold and eye-catching outfit designed by Olivier Rousteing. She chose a crystal-covered "naked" gown featuring a skeleton-inspired design, with detailed work even on the hands. The look was paired with a dramatic blue and white feathered cape, a sparkling headpiece, and heavy diamond jewellery by Chopard. Her long curls completed the look.

BLACKPINK star LISA, aka Lalisa Manobal, wore a striking outfit designed by Robert Wun. The dress featured a tent-like structure with 3D arms holding up a sheer white veil, making it look like she was standing inside a moving piece of art. The 3D arms were placed in traditional Thai dance poses.

Kim Kardashian channels warrior energy, turning heads with a bold and unusual look. She arrived in a sculpted bronze cone corset paired with matching orange hair. According to Page Six, the look is inspired by Allen Jones' 1975 poster for the film "Maitresse," an explicit drama centered on a dominatrix that sparked controversy at the time of its release.

Katy Perry goes ultra-mysterious in head-to-toe masked fashion statement.  She chose to go incognito, covering her face with a metal and mesh mask. Perry's outfit included a long strapless gown with a flowing cape. The outfit was made from repurposed Italian duchess satin. One of the most talked-about elements was her white glove, which featured an extra sixth finger. The detail was a reference to AI-generated images of Perry that had circulated online during past Met Galas.

Rihanna posed with hubby ASAP Rocky and was dressed by Maison Margiela by Glenn Martins. She wore a silver jeweled gown with a cape that served as a sort of frame for her image. To accessorize, she wore a silver headpiece and several diamond rings. As for glam, she opted for a matching silver makeup. 

For her appearance, Ananya Birla wore a custom creation by Robert Wun, paired with a sculptural mask designed by artist Subodh Gupta. The outfit featured a structured black jacket with a dramatic peplum and a voluminous pleated skirt, giving it a strong, sculpted silhouette. The most eye-catching element of the look was the metallic face mask made using stainless steel.

Actor Jaafar Jackson made a striking debut at the Met Gala 2026, as he turned heads with a look that paid tribute to his uncle, Michael Jackson. For the evening, Jaafar wore a black velvet suit by Ralph Lauren with gold detailing, paired with a black bowtie, red socks, and black ballet-style shoes. His outfit reflected a classic style often associated with Michael Jackson's iconic stage looks.

Anne Hathaway attended Met Gala 2026 in Michael Kors ensemble consisting of a black-and-white gown that was hand-painted by artist Peter McGough. While the front of Hathaway's flowing dress featured the image of a hand reaching out to a dove, the back had a stunning painting of the Goddess of Peace sprawling across the black fabric.

Sabrina Carpenter showed up wearing a custom Dior tulle dress by Jonathan Anderson that was made with actual film from Audrey Hepburn's 1954 film, Sabrina. Her platinum blonde hair was styled in tight Old Hollywood curls with a diamond headpiece, and she even wore a specialized French manicure.

Teyana Taylor walked the red carpet wearing a custom Tom Ford gown by Haider Ackermann. Cut from fringed fabric, her silver dress featured a mysterious hood that nearly covered her face.

Hailey Bieber never misses when it comes to making a fashion statement. She wore a Saint Laurent outfit that featured a bold strapless gold, armor-like bodice paired with a fitted cobalt blue skirt. Kylie Jenner pulled off a bold move for her Met Gala look. She wore a Schiaparelli gown, with the front falling down to reveal a nude illusion corset with faux nipples. She upped the ante with dramatic diamond and pearl oversized earrings and a matching collar necklace, but skipped bracelets or rings for the bold look.

Isha Ambani wore a custom couture saree by Gaurav Gupta, created in collaboration with Swadesh artisans. The saree was woven with threads of pure gold and featured hand-painted pichwai-inspired motifs in soft gold and earthy tones. However, what caught the eye of everyone was her mango-shaped sculpture by artist Subodh Gupta. The accessory served as a nod to Indian heritage and added an artistic element to her overall appearance. 

Dwayne Johnson rocked a tuxedo with a pleated skirt, custom-made by none other than Thom Browne. he showed off his Jacob & Co. Billionaire III on the red carpet, a rectangular skeleton watch made from 18-carat white gold that is literally covered in diamonds.

This time at MET, Manish Malhotra paid a tribute to Mumbai and the craftsmen of India through his meaningful ensemble. He donned a Mumbai-inspired couture, consisting of a black bandhgala layered with a 960-hour cape crafted by 50 artisans.
