Global K-pop phenomenon BTS has unveiled plans for a major city-wide celebration in Seoul to mark their highly anticipated comeback, album release, and world tour. Titled “BTS THE CITY ARIRANG SEOUL,” the initiative will take place from March 20 to April 12, 2026, coinciding with the launch of their fifth studio album Arirang. This multi-week cultural event is designed to transform the South Korean capital into a dynamic space where fans and residents alike can enjoy unique artistic and musical experiences.
BTS announces Seoul city as the centre
The festival will integrate digital media art, performances, and immersive installations throughout key areas of Seoul, turning everyday urban landscapes into spectacular, emotion-filled experiences. Prominent landmarks such as Sungnyemun Gate and Seoul Tower will be used as canvases for large-scale visual projections that highlight BTS’s musical journey while also celebrating Korean heritage and modern creativity. The initiative aims to present a seamless blend of pop culture and traditional elements, offering fans a chance to interact with contemporary art and music in public spaces.
The festivities begin on March 20, the same day Arirang is released globally. Launch celebrations will kick off at Yeouido Han River Park, where a lounge-style music event will invite attendees to enjoy BTS’s discography in a communal setting. Over the following days, additional outdoor art installations will be displayed in urban areas across downtown Seoul, including stairways, stone walls, and tree-lined streets. These installations will feature creative visual interpretations of BTS song lyrics and themes, bringing the group’s music into the heart of the city.
All about the comeback with Arirang
BigHit Music, BTS’s management company, is working in collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to ensure the city initiative delivers a memorable cultural experience for both local audiences and international visitors. Officials have emphasized that the event is intended not only to celebrate BTS’s return to the global music scene, but also to foster broader appreciation for art, culture, and community engagement.
This celebration follows similar large-scale city events held by BTS in cities like Las Vegas and Busan in 2022, which were part of past touring activities. The Seoul edition is expected to draw huge crowds and set the stage for BTS’s new chapter, reinforcing their enduring influence on global pop culture.
