Superstar Allu Arjun and filmmaker Atlee’s upcoming magnum opus AA22xA6 has been creating buzz ever since it was first announced more than a year ago. To add to it, the makers last month announced that Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone has joined the star cast, heightening the excitement tenfold. Later, it was reported that actors Janhvi Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur and Arjun’s Pushpa 2 co-star Rashmika Mandanna will also be a part of the team. And now, according to the latest update, Allu Arjun is believed to play an entire family tree in the Atlee film, thus making it the first time the actor will be seen in multiple roles on screen.
Allu Arjun to play four roles?
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, a source close to the development told them, “Allu is playing the entire family tree in Atlee's next film. He will be seen as a grandfather, father, and two sons in the film, making it a quadruple role for Allu. This would mark the first multiple role film of his career.” Atlee initially had Allu Arjun in mind for a double role and planned to cast two more actors as the father and grandfather, according to reports.

The source revealed, “However, Allu insisted on playing all four characters himself. At first, Atlee was hesitant, but on doing the look test, he felt this worked in favour of the film. The audiences will get to see 4 different avatars of Allu Arjun at the price of one ticket.”

Recently, it was reported that Rashmika Mandanna’s character in the film will be a major highlight. In Pushpa: The Rise (2021) and Pushpa 2: The Rule, Rashmika and Allu Arjun’s onscreen chemistry as a couple was highly appreciated. Now, with AA22xA6, it will be for the first time ever that fans will witness Rashmika as the negative lead. Rashmika, as the antagonist, will reportedly lock horns with Allu Arjun, Deepika, Janhvi Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur.
AA22 x A6 is reportedly being made on a budget of ₹800 crore, which makes it one of the most expensive Indian films to be ever produced.
