More about Jana Nayagan
Directed by H. Vinoth, the project boasts a promising ensemble cast including Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, and Narain in significant roles, among others. The technical crew of the drama includes Sathyan Sooryan as the cinematographer and Pradeep E. Ragav as the editor. The film is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on January 9, 2026, coinciding with the Pongal weekend.
The audio launch was organised at Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on December 27, drawing nearly one lakh fans and entering the Malaysian Book of Records for the largest audience at such an event. For the unaware, Jana Nayagan will be Vijay's last release before he becomes a full-time politician with his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. The audio launch became a landmark celebration of his illustrious three-decade-long journey in cinema.
At the audio launch, actor-politician Vijay said he decided to “give up cinema” to “stand up” for his fans, who offered him everything, including a ‘kottai’ (fort). “When I entered cinema, I thought I was building a small sand house here. But you all have built me a palace. Fans helped me build a fort… That’s why I’ve decided to stand for them. For the fans who gave up everything for me, I’m giving up cinema itself,” the actor said.
