Actor Tovino Thomas’s upcoming Malayalam film Pallichattambi was initially scheduled to release in theatres on Thursday, April 10. However, on Monday, the makers announced that the film’s release has been pushed by a week to coincide with Vishu (Kerala New Year as per the Hindu calendar). The makers cited the upcoming Kerala elections as the reason for the delay. The state of Kerala will conduct elections on April 9 for the State Assembly.

Pallichattambi postponed

On Monday night, the makers of Pallichattambi took to social media to announce the new release date. “We are here to tell the story of an extraordinary personality who has been forgotten in the renaissance history of Kerala. Due to the election code of conduct being in force, we are facing technical difficulties in obtaining the censor certificate. Therefore, the film’s release has been postponed to April 15, on the occasion of Vishu. We hope to have your love and support with us on this occasion,” they wrote.
