The event was graced by the presence of Mammootty, Director M Padmakumar, Unni Mukundan, Prachi Tehlan, (Young hero) Achuthan, Sudev Nair, Iniya, Tarun Arora and adapted screenplay writer Shankar Ramakrishnan.

Mamangam: History of the brave is the first Malayalam film to be released in four languages- Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Mamangam will showcase Mammootty as a mysterious character, in a never seen before avatar. The makers promise that the period film will portray a distinct tale and also showcase Kalari -- Indian martial art -- unlike anything seen on screen before.

On the film, Mammootty had earlier said, "What excited me was the role offered to me and the historical importance of the story. It happens in the 15th and 16th century in north Kerala... There were braver and bolder people and their sacrifice must be known to the new generation. And my role is also interesting."
Despite his experience of over 400 films, Mammootty, 67, exuberates the passion of newbie as he plays the lead role of a Chaaver (warrior). Set in 1695, Mamangam narrates the story of a religious festival held once every 12 years.
Kavya Film Company presents Mammootty in Mamangam: History of the Brave. Produced by Venu Kunnapilly and directed by M Padmakumar, the film is set to hit the silver screen on 12th December 2019.
