Singer Akasa Singh known for hits like &lsquo;Naagin&rsquo; and &lsquo;Kheench Meri Photo&rsquo; from &lsquo;Sanam Teri Kasam&rsquo; has entered Bigg Boss 15. She caught up with mid-day.com, just before being locked and spoke about all that one can expect from her this season.
How did you get on-board Bigg Boss 15?
This was the fourth or fifth time I was approached for the show but I wasn&rsquo;t sure before. This time I took it up because my mom and dad are crazy fans of the show. My mom coaxed me to try doing the show this year.
How have you been preparing yourself to be locked in with other housemates?
The show happened last minute, so I didn&rsquo;t get time to process what was happening. Apart from the physical preparation and clothes, I don&rsquo;t think my prep will end till I enter the house.
What are your thoughts about the theme &lsquo;Jungle mein sankat&rsquo;?
I am very nervous because it&rsquo;s the fear of the unknown, I don&rsquo;t know what is going to happen. I&rsquo;ve been watching the promos that say this time there&rsquo;s not going to be a house and I&rsquo;m thinking what does that even mean? Although I am adventurous, I&rsquo;ve always been in a protected environment and connected with friends and family. So, staying away from them is the real adventure for me and really scary.
Housemates are known to get into tiffs how do you plan to deal with such situations? Do you have any strategy?
At the end of the day it&rsquo;s a house with real emotions, whether you stay with family or other people, there tend to be fights. Once I get into the situation I&rsquo;ll know better. I don&rsquo;t have plans about how I will react. I&rsquo;m the person who will come to apologise and make peace in five minutes. In Punjabi we say &lsquo;mitti pao.&rsquo;
Fans love your voice, do you plan to entertain housemates and audiences with your performances?
Definitely, I sing all the time, so I plan on doing that there as well. I&rsquo;m just worried about a few things&hellip; without Google I don&rsquo;t know how I&rsquo;ll manage, because I&rsquo;m terrible at lyrics. Secondly there are copyright issues so I hope I&rsquo;m free to sing a good number of songs.

My mom has been called Rekha all her life because she looked exactly like her during her younger days. I used to mimic my mom because she&rsquo;s a Kathak dancer. I feel so star struck thinking about Salman Khan, I hope I can remain cool and calm. At the end of the day he is our childhood crush. I think I&rsquo;ll just pretend I&rsquo;m singing for his film when I&rsquo;m interacting with him.
People tend to take over a section of the house. What is your expertise?
Cooking. I can be helpful in terms of prep because my skills are limited, but I can help with cleaning.
