Ashi Singh has currently stunned her fans with her stellar performance in Ufff Yeh Love Hai Mushkil. The actress plays the character of Kairi in the show. Ashi is known for her versatile acting, and she became a household name with her former show Yeh Un Dino Ki Baat Hai. As the diva turns a year older today, here's what she had to share about her special day exclusively with mid-day. Ashi opened up about her birthday ritual, childhood memories and more.
On having a working birthday
When asked about whether she was working on her birthday, the actress affirmed that she is fond of celebrating on the sets, "I am shooting and I really like it. From the time I started working, last year was the first time I wasn't shooting on my birthday. I was travelling, the second thing I love the most. This year, it is going to be a working birthday and I am really happy. I feel blessed to celebrate my birthday at work."
No matter how old we grow up, childhood memories always stay fresh, especially when it is all about our birthday celebrations. Ashi also had a fun memory to share, "Most of my childhood memories of birthdays are from school. The only day when you get to wear coloured clothes and distribute extra candies to your best friend and extra chocolates for your favourite teacher. I think it's similar to everyone. Apart from that, not childhood memories but my most fond and beautiful memories are from the set and after I started working, after I got some lovely, beautiful friends, they made all my birthdays very, very, very special. Sometimes they just distribute food to needy people, and one time they planted trees in my name. It was on my 22nd or 23rd birthday, I don't remember exactly, but they planted that many trees, and they do things like that. So, that's beautiful. Then they make, my loved ones make me wish, they make these videos, and it is everything. So, they just make my birthday very beautiful. So, these are my very fond memories."
Ashi has a new birthday ritual
Ashi has finally decided to have a birthday ritual for herself; however, she ended up forgetting to follow it this time. "I don't have any birthday rituals. In fact, when I was young, I would end up crying on all my birthdays. I wouldn't want that to be my ritual. But ever since I started working, I have been celebrating them on the sets. When it comes to rituals, just last year I decided that every birthday I shall buy myself a gift; however, I completely forgot about it today."
Further, when asked about her most cherished gift and her birthday plans, Singh revealed, "There are so many, but there is this one gesture by my fans that left me in tears. They distributed food to all the needy people. That left me emotional, and I shall always cherish the love that I get from my fans. I am literally both. I love partying and spending time with my loved ones, and when I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is seek blessings at the temple. So I do both."
