Vicky Ratnani: We have taken dishes that people like and given it a twist

Disney is launching a new series called Disney Delicious. A cooking show hosted by Masterchef Vicky Ratnani. Ratnani got into conversation with mid-day.com.  Tell us about the concept of Disney Delicious and how is it different from other cooking shows?Disney Delicious is not just about cooking and food, it has an underlying message that tells viewers that they can cook delicious food at home without any need of fancy ingredients and at the same time they can also make boring food interesting, and healthy food more fun.  What are the unique and challenging dishes made on the show? There is a chocolate coated tart with beetroot and gajar halwa, there are multigrain tacos with pineapple salsa, we also have desi french toast which is also very unique. There's  popcorn chicken made at home, which is made with fresh ingredients. There are also cookies made with flax seeds, oats and raisins. The recipes are very unique, interesting and really nice looking and definitely kids are going to love it. Most kids are picky eaters and steer away from healthy food, how do you plan to reach out to them? Well, that’s the whole idea that kids are picky.  So we have taken ingredients and created dishes that a lot of children stay away from but we have made them very interesting and tasty. We have also taken dishes that people like and we’ve given it a healthy twist, for example the popcorn chicken. How was your experience collaborating with Disney? It was fantastic. Disney has a lot of guidelines, in terms of talking, the ingredients used in the recipes, and the entire attitude. It’s a really new experience for me, compared to what I have done in the past. And I’m looking forward to future partnerships with Disney. Apart from the recipes and quick tips in the kitchen, what else can the audience expect?Audience will see the reflection of their child in Suvi, because of the kind of situations we have created and Suvi’s food requests. It is also guiding parents on how to deal with certain situations and make the most of it,  how to motivate their child without forcing anything on them and definitely not to expect changes overnight. Health Mantra, you swear by?I think balance in life is key. Having meals with proteins, complex carbohydrates, minerals and good fats is fantastic. Also, stay away from processed foods, frozen foods, artificial sweeteners, snacks made in hydrogenated fats. Chew more vegetables and eat clean. I think dandiya runs in my DNA as I am a Gujarati, says Shefali Jariwala

Shefali Jariwala became an overnight sensation, courtesy the music video of ‘Kaanta Laga’ in which she was the female lead. Buoyed by the success of this video, she went onto to do films and reality shows, including ‘Bigg Boss’. Mid-Day Online met up with her on the occasion of ‘Navratri 2022’, wherein she revealed her 'secret' of being a born dandiya dancer.  Shefali, what unique things do you see about ‘Navratri 2022’?I can’t really call it unique, but, I am happy that this year all of the Navratri enthusiasts (including me) will get to go and physically play garba after 2019. It’s quite exciting to see the energy of people playing garba at the pandals. In addition to that, work wise also, I will be visiting a few places for Navratri. All in all, I am really looking forward to the coming days. Are you more of a dandiya person or garba?I enjoy both- garba as well as dandiya. But, both has its place and time. In addition to that, let me also tell that music really matters a lot. So, depending on where I am, I can pick up that vibe! Have you ever got hurt while playing dandiya (with sticks)?Haven’t we all at some point? (smiles) Have you learnt dandiya / garba from someone? Or you learnt it seeing others?I am a Gujarati. That’s why, I think it runs in my DNA. I feel I started doing garba even before I started walking (laughs). Never have I undergone any kind of professional training to learn garba or dandiya. Also Read: I have got hurt many times while playing dandiya, says Preeti Jhangiani Which is your all-time favorite dandiya/ garba song in Bollywood?Without any doubt… it has to be the one and only ‘Dhol baaje’ from the film ‘Ram Leela’ Do you fast during the nine days?Yes. I observe fast on all the 9 days. I also do ‘Maa Durga Puja’ at my residence. Do you follow the colour code for all the nine days?Honestly speaking, I try to follow the colour code as much as possible. What’s your take on accessories? Are you a minimal person or you prefer a ‘quintessential’ Navratri make up?I love eccentric oxidized silver jewellery which I experiment a lot during Navratri. My makeup is always minimal. There’s a lot of kajal in my eyes. Also Read: Bigg Boss 16: Salman Khan reacts to reports of charging Rs 1,000 crore

Bigg Boss 16: Salman Khan reacts to reports of charging Rs 1,000 crore

Salman Khan candidly answered questions about the many rumours that are circulating about him, starting with nixing the theory that he wasn't going to host 'Bigg Boss 16' and that his fees have touched Rs 1,000 crore. Speaking to journalists at the virtual media briefing, Salman said: "Well, I am often asked if I am doing the show or not, so I get irritated sometimes and tell these people that I don't want to do the show. But these people are helpless as they feel if not me, then who else. So, they have no choice." By 'they', the star obviously meant the producers of the show. On the rumour that his fees added up to Rs 1,000 crore, he said: "I would never get this much and if in reality, I get this amount, I don't think I'd be working. I have a lot of expenses like on lawyers and because of these rumours, income-tax people will start noticing me." Also Read: Caught Off Guard: Salman Khan fits a half-filled glass into his jeans pocket When asked why he has returned to the show as host, he said: "I learn a lot on this show and get to meet so many people, and whenever they go off track, I bring them back in the right direction. I protect the bullied and bully the ones who bully. In the four months when this show goes on, we bond like a family." On whether he would like to invite a Bollywood couple on the show, Salman said: "No one. I don't think anyone can play the game inside. It's a different thing. I would not take the names but I would like to have a few contestants who would go inside single but come out from the house together." Salman then talked about his mother's diminishing love for the show. He revealed: "She used to watch it religiously. Now, she also watches other shows. This might be because she feels that she has had too much of 'Bigg Boss'." Also Read: Have you heard? When Sukesh Chandrashekhar met Nikki Tamboli in jail: Authorities recreate scene

In order to get a better understanding of how Sukesh Chandrashekhar ran his extortion racket from jail, the Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police resorted to a unique way. On Saturday, the EOW recreated the meetings that took place between Sukesh and actresses Nikki Tamboli and Sofia Singh within the premises of Tihar Jail (where Sukesh was lodged earlier). Speaking with ANI, special CP EOW Ravindra Yadav revealed that the two actresses had gone to meet Sukesh while he was in jail and that he offered them good roles in films during their interaction. Ravindra Yadav further told ANI that they recreated the meeting in the jail premises to get a better picture of how he operated from prison.  "It was very important for us to find out, how exactly was Sukesh able to run his syndicate within the cell. That's why we recreated the whole scene in Tihar Jail. The crime scene was recreated with two actresses, Nikita Tamboli and Sophia Singh. They had met Sukesh inside the Number 1 Jail. They were introduced to Sukesh by Pinky Irani," the officer said. "Sukesh had arranged the whole setup inside the jail. We tried to recreate every detail of the modus operandi. From which gate did they enter? and where exactly did they meet Sukesh? We tried to recreate every detail. It will help us very much in court. We have also done videography and created the draft of the case," the officer added.Ravindra Yadav further said that Sukesh is an expert in decoying people with his confidence and money."Both actors said that they felt suspicious but still Sukesh was able to decoy them. Sukesh Chandrashekhar is an expert in decoying people with the level of confidence he speaks with, it can even completely convince people who doubt him. He conned the actresses on the behest of offering roles to them," the officer said. Also Read: ‘Richa- Ali wedding: Gerard Butler and Judi Dench amongst Hollywood invitees’ "Sukesh used to say big things about himself. To someone he said that he is a big producer, to someone else he said that he is the head of a South Indian channel. He had even called the jail cell his office. He had a good amount of money, that he used to lure people with and they ended up believing him. He told the two heroines that he is making films from inside the cell only," the officer added. The Special CP also revealed the involvement of some more actresses in the case and said that no one has been given a clean chit. He added that the names of a few jail officials who were helping him have also come to the fore. "All this was running inside the jail and some jail officials too were involved in this. There are some more heroines involved in the case. We haven't given clean chit to anyone, and these actresses might be called again if needed," the officer told ANI. Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez on Monday got interim bail from the Patiala House Court in the Rs 200 crore money laundering case. On September 15, actress Nora Fatehi and Pinky Irani, who had apparently introduced her to Sukesh were questioned by the EOW of the Delhi Police. Sukesh Chandrashekhar has been accused of running an extortion racket worth Rs 200 crore when he was lodged in Rohini jail, as he tried to extort money from Aditi Singh, the wife of jailed former Ranbaxy owner Shivinder Singh, posing as an official from the union law ministry and the PMO, on the pretext of getting her husband out on bail. Sukesh Chandrashekhar, a native of Bengaluru in Karnataka, is currently lodged in a Delhi jail and faces over 10 criminal cases registered against him.  Also Read: 12-hour shifts leave TV soap actors with no personal life: Pratiksha Rai This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies.
