International Women’s Day started off the second week in March. To encapsulate the experiences of working women, we delved into the lives of two autorickshaw drivers in Bandra who spoke of the complexities of their job and the independence it comes along with. In our second women’s day feature, entrepreneurs from diverse sectors—hospitality to cosmetics—revealed their best kept productivity secrets, and spoke of making room for mental and physical health in their busy schedules.
For our third women’s day feature, we spoke to bartenders and bar managers who’ve broken into the male-dominated industry. They talk about making inroads, special cocktails, and all that comes with being front and centre at a buzzing bar. Last but not the least, we had feminist researcher, writer, and activist Manjima Bhattacharjya curate a comprehensive reading list for us wherein she picks titles that helped shaped her understanding of women and their relationship to work.

Live performances are steadily making a return to Mumbai, and musicians are prepping to play in front of large audiences after a break of two years. Mid-day Online spoke to metalheads and underground musicians performing at a gig in Navi Mumbai as they shared their passion for live performances. This past week also saw summer blooming in full swing.
