All Mumbai Malayali Association (AMMA) annually creates a large floral pookalam (a type of floral rangoli) at the CSMT station to celebrate Onam
This tradition, which began in 2015, transforms the station into a hub of cultural celebration
It is drawing significant attention and serving as a popular selfie point for commuters and visitors in Mumbai
While Onam started on August 25, today is the main day of the celebration, as people come together with their friends and family to enjoy festivities
The festivities include not only making the pookalam but also other traditions including enjoying the Onam Sadhya, which has over 18 to 20 dishes served on a banana leaf
