After enthralling performances last year, Mahindra Blues Festival started off with British Blues Hall of Famer Matt Schofield, who had performed at the first edition, play some of his best songs along with his organ trio
Glad to have returned to India, Matt said he loved the crowd, and hopes to come back soon to play some of his all-time favourites in a career that spans over three decades
It only got better with Altered Five Blues Band, coming all the way from Milwaukee to perform some of their most popular hits, mesmerising Mumbaikars at the Soulstrat Saloon, after Matt Schofield.
They were followed by Grace N' The Cliches, who were the Band Hunt winners for this edition, and they delivered a powerful performance to remember
It all ended with Grammy-nominated Shemekia Copeland, who is also the daughter of blues legend Johnny Copeland, returning for the third time, to perform some of her most popular and award-winning hits
With a powerful voice, Shemekia, who is also known as the 'New Queen of the Blues', performed songs that were not only about women, but also about her son, and her parents, making it an intimate affair for all on Valentine's Day
