NEXT store located at the Pavilion Mall, in Pune
In a significant move for the Indian retail landscape, UK-based fashion brand NEXT has officially entered the Indian market. The brand has launched its first physical store in Pune, marking the beginning of its India operations.
The Pune store launch is the first in a series of planned openings, with more locations expected in the coming months as part of the brand’s long-term expansion strategy in India. Located at Pavilion Mall in Pune, the store spans 7,100 sq ft. It has been opened in partnership with Myntra Jabong India (MJIPL), the company announced in a press release on Friday.
In the next five to six years, NEXT aims to expand to over 50 points of sale (EBOs and shop-in-shop formats) across India, in key Indian cities, including Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
NEXT will also expand its presence through shop-in-shop formats at multi-brand retail stores such as Shoppers Stop, widening accessibility for shoppers beyond standalone locations.
Speaking on the launch of the first brand store in India, Venu Nair, Chief of Strategic Partnerships and Omni-channel, Myntra, said, “Our strategic collaboration with NEXT provides Indian consumers with access to the brand's globally collections. Specifically in children's wear, the premium children's fashion market is currently underserved, offering limited options for fashion-conscious parents.”
MJIPL has the licensed rights to distribute the brand’s range of products and the brand’s rights to its licensed franchisee partners for opening and operating stores.
