New Delhi: Surpassing vice president of Koch Industries David Korch, Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg became the sixth richest person in the world as the company profit escalated by 13 percent.

Social media giant Facebook has reported a rise of 52 percent in the forth-quarter sales yesterday. The company has also seen a twofold rise in the net income by USD1.56 billion.
As most of Zuckerberg's fortune is tied to his holdings in Facebook, the stock price increase made him richer by USD6 billion in one day. The 31-year-old CEO has wealth worth USD47.5 billion.
The only people wealthier than Zuckerberg, according to Bloomberg data are: Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates (USD78 billion), Zara founder Amancio Ortega (USD69.7 billion), the Oracle of Omaha Warren Buffett (USD59.4 billion), Amazon founder &amp; CEO Jeff Bezos (USD55.8 billion) and telecom magnate Carlos Slim Helu (USD47.5 billion).
Notably, the five richest people in the world have seen their wealth decrease over the past year.
