“Bawraas are not just people who are mad; for us bawraas are people, who do something totally different,” says composer Shantanu Moitra, who has launched a project titled Bawraa in collaboration with lyricist Swanand Kirkire and stand-up comedian Vikram Sathaye.

The concept of the initiative is simple — three creative minds who happen to be thick friends will take to the stage to raise funds each time they find someone who has exceptional talent, but has not been able to achieve his/her dream because of financial or other hurdles. Their first find or ‘bawraa’ as they prefer to call her is Krushnaa Patil, a mountaineer who wishes to become the youngest Indian woman to climb K2 — the toughest mountain peak in the Himalayas.
