Instagram now owns 600 million monthly active users mark

In less than six months, photo sharing site Instagram has announced to have more than 600 million monthly active users in its platform. Within two years, Instagram’s user base has doubled from 300 million to 600 million, which the company claims to be its fastest growth rate ever.

Instagram has made a lot of changes this year and added many new features to the platform. When Instagram crossed the 500 million user mark, it launched features like Instagram stories and picture and video slideshow, something which are similar to that of SnapChat. Recently, Instagram added Live videos and stories feature along with another one that enables users to save posts and view it later. It also got a new logo and a new black-and –white designed outlook.

A report stated that 80 percent of Instagram users are from USA. In every single day Instagram witnesses over 95 million posts and 4.2 million likes from across the world.

Keeping note of users' profile safety and security, Instagram updated its safety tools which now allow users to control the comments they post on images and videos.
