Pune-based artist Vidyadhar Khare&rsquo;s latest collection of artworks includes 21 life-sized paintings. Created over a span of two years, these paintings are made on canvas with vibrant oil and acrylic colours. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/mar/Krishna-under-tree.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 670px;" /> Krishna under a tree Khare says that his aim was to do something different. &ldquo;I wanted to do something different. I chose different subjects to ensure there is a variety in the exhibition. Everyone can enjoy the paintings as they are semi-realistic. I have taken the Mughal and Rajput techniques of painting as the base here. Among the local artists I like Ravi Parajanpe&rsquo;s paintings,&rdquo; says the artist. The paintings on display are made in a semi-realistic format as Khare believes that the paintings should be inspiring as well as easily understood by the viewers. His mythological paintings have influence of Rajput Shaili and Kangra Shaili of Indian decorative style.
