When we envision the future, the two main aspects of it are children and the environment. And the best way to create this future is to teach the children to be empathetic towards the environment. It can also be argued that COVID-19 was although indirectly, a consequence, of deforestation and the rising ecological imbalance globally. Fifteen billion trees are being cut every year which will cause severe consequences by the end of 2050 -

*6.60M people will be affected by ‘severe health problems’ due to deteriorating air quality.
Therefore, this Republic Day, Robin Hood Academy is undertaking a unique project #AcademyGreens - Trees for 2050, This initiative will be completed in various phases. In the first phase, 60000 volunteers whom they fondly address as robins across various Nations will educate students about the repercussions of cutting trees and the significance of planting to reverse climate change followed by a National Level Drawing competition and then a massive tree plantation drive. In Mumbai, the team is conducting the tree plantation drive at 25 different locations and aims to plant 10000 trees.
Robin Hood Academy, a zero fund organisation which empowers 7328+ street children in 102 cities nationally with basic primary education and has enrolled 1792 kids to schools with the aim of bridging the gap between streets and school.
Every initiative leads to better results when it is collaborated with good intentions. We have planned to do our bit and we encourage each one of you to do your bit by lending a helping hand during our tree plantation drives, and /or plant a tree in your locality, or help us spread awareness about #AcademyGreens - Trees for 2050.
