My girlfriend is too forward-thinking for me!

My girlfriend is too forward-thinking. I don't know what she's been influenced by (books or movies?) but she's talking very irrationally these days. She wants us to have a baby before we get married (we've been together six years), wants us to live in before that and all these are recent developments. I'm no stone-age man in these matters, it's just that I don't want her to repent these decisions, given that society in general and her family and mine in particular, won't accept it. I've tried to tell her this but she just won't listen. Help!

Dear Jignesh,
If it's just a passing fad for her, it would be best to discourage her before she gets too serious about it. Some things don't work everywhere as the ground realities differ. Tell her that you seriously don't want her doing something she'll regret later. And since you already have, tell her that if she's adamant, you'll dump her. If that doesn't get the point across nothing will.
