If your wipers are worn out, have them replaced. Unclear vision of the road ahead can be dangerous; it's worse at night.
Worn-out tyres can be dangerous. Wet roads mean a loss of traction, and balding tyres make it worse. Have them replaced with new ones; don't mix-and-match used and new tyres.
Even if you have a neat set of tyres, ensure they are inflated properly. Poorly inflated tyres affect braking, grip and fuel consumption.
Ensure the fluids in your vehicle are not running dry not just the oils, but brake fluid, radiator coolant, and of course, windshield washer fluid.
If your car is fitted with a security system or a stereo system at a non-authorised outlet, ask your authorised service centre to check the electricals of your car. While at it, get your lamps checked headlights, tail-lights, indicators, fog lamps. Also, a set of extra fuses always helps.
Wet conditions don't allow car tyres to grip the road well. Make allowance for that as braking efficiency is reduced, more so in the case of cars that don't have Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS). In such cars, also avoid braking suddenly.
Don't drive too fast, especially if water has collected over sections of the road. This leads to aquaplaning, which is a complete loss of traction leading to momentary loss of control.
