Woman cuts off husband's genitals, takes organs with her to parents' home

An argument between a husband and wife over a suspected illicit affair turned violent, when the woman allegedly chopped off his genitals. The mother of four was apprehended for the crime in Gudiyattam, Tamil Nadu.


According to The Times of India, Gudiyattam police revealed that the woman named Sarasu was nabbed on Friday near Thuthipattu. She was carrying her husband's genitals in her purse and was en route to her parents' home.

Cops say the incident took place on Wednesday night, when the husband Jagadeesan, came home drunk and picked a quarrel with his wife accusing her of infidelity. The two argued back and forth accusing each other of being unfaithful till 2am. Jagadeesan then went to sleep after which Sarasu got hold of a kitchen knife and cut off her husband's penis at around 3 am and left the house.

Neighbours rushed Jagadeesan to the Government Hospital at Gudiyattam after hearing his cries for help.

Cops learned during the probe that the couple, who were employed at a garments unit at Gudiyattam fell in love and married 14 years ago. They had a son and three daughters and resided at Lingundram.

Sarasu returned to her parents' house at V Kotta last year following a dispute after which their children began living with their paternal grandparents at Gudiyattam.

Sarasu returned for her eldest son's birthday celebrations on July 17 at his behest after which he implored them to stay together. Both husband and wife then went on to stay at Lingundram, while their children continued to stay at their paternal grandparents' residence.
