Mumbai ANC sends 41-year-old alleged drug trafficker to Yerwada Central Prison in Pune for a year

According to the police, the Azad Maidan Unit of ANC had earlier registered a case against the accused under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act, 1985, for alleged drug trafficking activities. A charge sheet was subsequently filed before the court and the matter is currently pending trial

Mumbai’s Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) has detained a 41-year-old alleged drug trafficker under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act, 1988, and lodged him in Yerwada Central Prison in Pune for one year, officials said on Wednesday.

The accused, identified as Chembur resident Farukh Khan, was detained following approval from the Maharashtra Home Department (Special) based on a proposal submitted by the ANC’s Azad Maidan Unit through the Mumbai Police Commissioner.
