Man kills cousin brother over property dispute

One accomplice arrested, remaining five on the run

Officials of the Lonavla city police station arrested two suspects, including the former Lonavla city chief of NCP students’ committee, for allegedly murdering his cousin over a property dispute in Valvan in Lonavla on Monday night. The deceased was identified as Abhishek Arun Holge (27).u00a0

Police officials arrested Abhishek’s cousin Vinod Vishnu Holge (27) and Yogesh Jangale (19). The duo was remanded in police custody by a local court yesterday. The other five accused are at large.u00a0

Officials said Abhishek was against Vinod’s suggestion of constructing a new house in Valvan by demolishing the existing one. On Monday around 8 pm, Jangale asked Abhishek to come out of the house and took him under the flyover bridge near Hotel Center Point, where Vinod was waiting for them.

Vinod and Abhishek had a heated argument over the issue, following which all seven of them overpowered Abhiskek and strangled him. u00a0The police came to know about the incident around 11 pm. Abhishek’s father Arun had lodged a complaint against the suspects at the Lonavla City police station.u00a0
