A 45-year-old man was allegedly caught using the registration number of another scooter on his own vehicle to avoid traffic penalties during a routine check by the traffic police. The accused is Paresh Gada, a real estate agent and a resident of Borivali West. Gada was riding a TVS Jupiter scooter without wearing a helmet when he was intercepted by traffic constable Sushant Mohite on June 5 in Borivali.
Helmet offence
While issuing an e-challan for the helmet offence, constable Mohite received an alert on the system indicating that the scooter’s registration number had been flagged. Further verification revealed the number belonged to another scooter owned by a company called The Design House.
