Mumbai crime news: Teacher molests 16-year-old student at coaching class in Sion; arrested

A teacher has been arrested for allegedly molesting a 16yearold student on the premises of a coaching class in Mumbai police said on MondayBased on a complaint lodged by the girl the police in Mumbai on Saturday registered a case against the teacher under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences POCSO Act an official saidAs per the complaint the accused allegedly molested the girl on two occasions last month on the premises of the coaching class in the Sion Koliwada area under Antop Hill police station limits in Mumbai he saidThe teacher has in 30555 cases out of which 33261 juveniles were apprehended under cases of IPC and 4519 juveniles were apprehended under cases of SLL during 2022 The majority of juveniles in conflict with law apprehended under IPC and SLL crimes were in the age group of 16 years to 18 years 786 per cent 29690 out of 37780 during 2022 the report further saidA total of 5352 cases have been registered against Juveniles during 2022 in Metropolitan cities showing a decrease of 82 percent over 2021 5828 casesA total of 7061 juveniles were apprehended in 5352 cases out of which 6498 juveniles were apprehended under IPC cases and 563 juveniles were apprehended under SLL cases during 2022 A majority 793 per cent of juveniles in conflict with law apprehended under IPC and SLL crimes were in the age group of
