Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) received a bomb threat on Friday evening, triggering a high-level security alert, officials privy to the developments told ANI. However, no suspicious object was found after a detailed search of the premises.

Speaking to ANI, Senior Inspector Sambhaji Katare of the Government Railway Police (GRP) at CSMT, said, "As per the SOP (standard operating procedure), the teams concerned were called, and a search operation was carried out. With the help of the bomb disposal squad and dog squad, we searched the entire station. Nothing suspicious was found. We've registered a case at Mumbai's Colaba Police station, and the call regarding the bomb threat had come from Assam. Further investigation into the case is underway."

The threat call was received at the Maharashtra Director General of Police’s (DGP) office. The caller had claimed that a bomb would be planted at the busy CSMT, prompting immediate action from the Railway Police and Mumbai Police.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is currently in progress.

Hoax bomb threat at Ahmedabad airport

A hoax bomb threat caused a temporary security scare at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad earlier this week. The threat, received via email, led to heightened security checks and activation of standard safety protocols.

In a statement, the airport spokesperson said, "Following the receipt of a threatening email on 22 July 2025, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad, activated the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee, and the threat was assessed as non-specific. CISF's Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad conducted comprehensive checks in line with standard security protocols."

"After a thorough sweep of the premises, no suspicious object or activity was found. Airport operations have continued without disruption," the spokesperson added.

Search ops launched at Rajasthan CMO, Jaipur Airport after bomb threat

Security agencies launched extensive search operations at the Rajasthan Chief Minister's Office (CMO) and Jaipur International Airport on Saturday after an email threat warned of bomb blasts at both locations, news agency PTI reported.

The threat mail, sent to the official email ID of Jaipur airport, claimed that both the airport and the CMO would be blown up within in hours, prompting swift action by police and other emergency services.

"The anti-bomb squad, police, fire brigade and civil defence teams were swiftly deployed at both the Chief Minister's Office and the airport. Additional police personnel were rushed to the state secretariat to strengthen security," a senior police officer said.

Bomb detection and disposal squads carried out a room-to-room search at the CMO, while similar checks were conducted at Jaipur Airport. No suspicious object was recovered from either site.

Saturday being a government holiday, only a limited number of officers and staff were present at the Chief Minister’s Office. They were immediately evacuated.

Search operations lasted for over an hour at both locations. Police said that efforts are ongoing to trace the origin of the threat email.
