The Chatushringi police are having a hard time in their bid tobring all those involved in the alleged revaluation scam at the University of Pune (UoP) to book, and now the main accused in the case has vanished from the scene. Kingpin Gaus Shaikh, accused of providing dummy students and running a ghostwriter racket in the Poona College was arrested in October last year. He had revealed during interrogation that he used Salim Shaikh, a junior clerk at the university, and his links in the UoP’s examination department to inflate marks of students in the revaluation process.
