Bomb threat call for Mumbai: Caller claims to be CBI official, cops file FIR

According to the police, the phone call was made on its helpline number 112 and the caller on the other side said that three bomb blasts will take place in the city

The Azad Maidan Police in Mumbai have registered an FIR in the matter and has launched a manhunt for the suspect, an official said.

Mumbai Police on Wednesday received a threat call mentioning bomb explosions at multiple key places in the city, the police said. The unidentified caller during the call also said that he was a CBI official and wanted to pass on the information regarding the blasts, official sources said. After conducting detailed searches at places mentioned in the call, the police termed the call as a hoax call and registered an FIR against the unknown caller, an official said.
