Lalhriatpuia, the hunter belonging to Zotuitlang hamlet who was hunting for birds, shot at 35-year-old Zomuanpuii, also from the same village while the latter was collecting wild fruits mistaking her for a wild animal.u00a0

Zomuanpuii sustained bullet injuries on her head, left thigh, ankle and abdomen. She was treated at the Christian Hospital at Serkawn and brought to the Aizawl Civil Hospital where doctors declared her condition as stable. An FIR was filed at Lunglei Police Station today.
