The items were returned by BKC, Kherwadi, Nirmal Nagar, Vakola, Vile Parle, Sahar and Airport police stations under the jurisdiction of Zone VIII, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Manish Kalwaniya
The items include mobile phones, jewellery, vehicles, laptops and cash, all of which were recovered over the last few months after FIRs were registered, he said
In a similar event in March this year, the Zone IX of the Mumbai Police had organised a ‘Seized Property-Return Ceremony’ and handed over valuables worth around Rs 3 crore to their respective owners, police had earlier said
During the event in March, the police had returned stolen and missing items such as cash, mobile phones, gold jewellery, vehicles, watches, and other belongings to the owners
The complainants who reported their valuables missing were invited to the event at St Joseph’s Church in Juhu. The complainants expressed their satisfaction over the police's action after receiving their stolen and missing valuables
A total of 184 items, collectively valuing Rs 3,02,25,747, were returned to the complainants during the event that was held in March, an official had earlier said
Earlier this month, the Kalyan Police Zone in Maharashtra's Thane district has returned 72 mobile phones, reported stolen or lost, to their respective owners, according to an official official
