A 21-year old nurse committed suicide at Thane's civil hospital on Friday evening. The incident took place at the nurse civil quarters inside the hospital's vicinity. The deceased identified as Poonam Jagannath Gharat was a nurse at the hospital and was pursuing third year nursing course.

The incident took place at around 7.30pm, where hospital staff found her body. The victim was a resident of Wagle Estate in Thane.
