Former IAS official Avinash Dharmadhikari has joined Shiv Sena, amid speculation that the party may be considering fielding him for the Lok Sabha polls.
Dharmadhikari joined the Sena at party office Sena Bhawan at Dadar in central Mumbai in the presence of Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray Friday evening.
"Dharmadhikari is a non-corrupt official who is committed to Hindutva, social responsibility and good governance. The party would find him useful in the long run," Sena spokesperson Neelam Gorhe said.
She, however, declined to comment on reports that Dharmadhikari may be a Sena candidate for Lok Sabha.
