A day after the Gurgaon Police killed Haryana&rsquo;s most wanted gangster Sandeep Gadoli in a shootout in Andheri, Mumbai Police Commissioner Datta Padsalgikar has instructed the city Crime Branch to take over the probe into the loopholes in the encounter.

This paper had reported yesterday that an inquiry had been launched into the shootout because the Gurgaon cops had not notified the local police about their plans.
On Sunday morning, four officers of the Gurgaon Crime Branch gunned down Gadoli, who was wanted in Gurgaon for 36 serious offences and carried Rs 1.25-lakh cash reward on his head. Paramjeet Singh and Vikram Singh, two constables from the Gurgaon team were injured in the encounter. They have been discharged from the hospital since.
Loopholes Yesterday, Mumbai Crime Branch recorded statements of a few people involved the Gadoli shootout, including Gurgaon Crime Branch officers, staffers of the Hotel Airport Metro (where it happened), and five of Gadoli&rsquo;s associates.
The Gurgaon cops had not informed the local police and failed to make an entry in the police station diary before making their way to arrest Gadoli. Reiterating their stand on the shootout, Gurgaon police officials told the Crime Branch yesterday that they hurried to arrest Gadoli because they were tipped off that the gangster would check out of the hotel around 11 am.
